Biography

Born on November 3, 2003 in Villajoyosa and raised in El Campello, Samuel began his percussion studies at the Professional Conservatory “Guitarrista José Tomás” in Alicante, training with several renowned international percussionists.

He has received major awards, including First Prize at the IV International Percussion Contest (2018 and 2021), Second Prize at the Italy PAS International Competition (2022), and the Extraordinary End-of-Degree Award. He also broadened his education through a program at the BRIT School in London.

From 2013 to 2019, he was a member of the Young Orchestra of Alicante (OJPA), winning the SUMMA CUM LAUDE First Prize twice at Vienna’s Musikverein. He has since performed with orchestras such as JONDE, JORCAM, JONC, the Barenboim–Said Foundation Orchestra, and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra.

Samuel is currently an academist with the Alicante Orchestra, has taken part in the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy, and has collaborated with Oper FrankfurtOpernhaus Zürich, and the Spanish National Orchestra (OCNE).

He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid (RCSMM), including an Erasmus year in Frankfurt, and is now pursuing his Master’s degree at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), with the teachers Klaus Schwärzler and Benjamin Foster, continuing to expand his artistic presence in the European classical music scene.
